Saeed Khodadadi
It is said that this young man has been killed by the regime security forces after he insulted Khamenei, the Iranian Supreme leader. His dead body has been handed over to his family in the city of Mashhad. It is interesting that an internal iranian website gives a different information about him. It says he fell during his military service in combat with "counter-revolutionary forces" in Ahvaz and died because of a bullet that hit his head. A different source here.

Sina Arami
This young victim is not widely known. Reportedly he died on Ashoora 2010 and the sources state his friend Mehran's account:“Sina’s family and friends have shut their mouths, but now a guilty conscience has inspired me to tell the truth. Last year, me and Sina had gone to Jamaran for listening to Khatami’s speech. As you know, the Basiji thugs attacked Jamaran and brutally beat everyone, broke the windows, etc and Kahatami’s speech remained incomplete. Sina wanted to record the scene of the crime (with his mobile or camera), but the Basiji thugs saw him, caught him, beat him to death, and took him into a van. The next day, i.e. Ashoura day, the news of his death were given to his family. They threatened that if Sina’s family says anything about his killing, they would killed the other child of Sina’s family. (Maybe) Naturally, his family (and his friends) was scared to death and said nothing about Sina’s tragedy. His family lived in Langroud, Gilan, but after Sina’s tragedy the regime forced Sina’s family into leaving Langroud, and moving to Karaj.” He added: "When I went to Langroud for Sina’s funeral, I saw his dead body. The cuts and bruises on his backs, was clearly a sing of whip. His finger nails were pulled. And some holes, like drill’s holes, were visible in his bones. And the most dreadful thing was about his abdomen. They had emptied his abdomen. Apparently, after a lot of brutal tortures, they finally shot into his hip, and the bullet went from one side of his body to the other side."

Alireza Sabouri Miandehi
He was then taken to Ibn Sina hospital in west Tehran for treatment. Although he gained consciousness at the hospital, doctors were unable to fully remove the bullet from inside his skull. “The bullet exploded inside his head, a fragment left through an eyebrow, [but] the projectile stayed inside his skull while four shrapnel fragments were stuck. The projectile was extracted during a complicated and intense operation, but the fragments remained inside,” a family member told the Green Voice of Freedom on condition of anonymity.
Eleven months after he was first wounded, Alireza, accompanied by the family member, left Iran for Turkey to seek medical treatment through the UN office there. However, despite family pleas to relocate him to Germany where some of his relatives reside, the UN officials in Turkey rejected the family’s calls and instead decided to send Alireza to the United States. “We told them [the UN] time after time that he should be in Germany, close his relatives who could take care of him. But as usual, the UN completely ignored our calls and sent him to the US,” the family argued.
Nearly 900 days after being shot, Alireza Miandehi Sabouri died at the tender age of 22, 6,000 miles away from home in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was buried. “He passed away in a foreign land in silence and loneliness,” the family member continued. “He was treated unjustly both in Iran and abroad.

Arash Arkan
Arash Arkan was arrested on 4 November 2009 while helping a protester who was being chased by the police for having taken pictures from an opposition protests close to Vali-Asr Square in Tehran. According to Iran-Emrooz, Arkan, who had realised that a young protester was in danger of being arrested by Iranian security forces for the sole "crime" of filming the unrest using his mobile phone, quickly intervened and attempted to trip one of the security forces to allow for the protester to flee the scene. Although Arkan's heroic act helped his fellow Iranian to run away, it wasn't enough to to save himself from the batons of the police forces present at the scene.
Until three months after his arrest, there was no information on Arkan's arrest or his place of detention. Despite having spent more than a year in prison, judicial authorities sentenced Arkan to eight months in prison disregarding the fact that he had already spent eight months in detention.
His father, one year after his son's death, breaks the silence and speaks out about the imprisonment and death of Arash. Here you can find the transcript of the interview with him. For Persian speakers the audio file is here.

Behnoud Ramazani
He was a 19 year old student was killed by basiji forces in Tehran the night of Chaharshanbe Soori - the Persian Fire Festival, March 15th.
Eyewitness report:
Last night, Behnoud Ramezani was in the Narmak area in Tehran around Square 22, when he was attacked and killed by Basiji forces in Tehran. It was around 10 PM local time, a number of young Iranian’s were heading back home from after celebrating Char Shanbeh Soori ( The Iranian Fire festival),when Basiji forces mounted on Motorcycles attacked and beat the defenseless youths with electric batons .
Behnoud like many young Iranians was carrying home-made fireworks in his pockets. During the attack all the fireworks in his pockets exploded, and he was injured severely during the explosion, as his body was literally torn apart. It was probably one of the worst scene I have ever witness in my life. Apart from myself, there were several others witness as well, and after hearing our screams and cries for help others soon arrived at the scene. Two of the basijis abandoned their motorcycles and escaped with the help of other basijis on motorcycles.
10 minutes later an ambulance arrived and brought Behnoud to the hospital and his friends followed the ambulance with their own cars. After 30 minutes the staff at Al-Qadir hospital told us that his condition was critical, and there was little hope. Today, when I went to the same place and asked people about last nights situation, everyone told me that they didn’t know anything! It was very strange for me!
After searching awhile in his neighborhood, finally I saw some of his friends with his picture in their arms and they told me that he had died. I asked them about Behnoud, and they told me that he was student at Mechanical Engineer University in the Northern part of Iran, but he was from Tehran-Pars area in Tehran, and since he was a close friend of ours, he had come to visit us, but unfortunately he was killed by basiji forces.

Elnaz Babazadeh
According to HRANA, three members of the Basij militia misused their ID cards in the city of Tabriz to abduct, beat, assault, rape, and kill a young woman with a gun. They dumped her body in the outskirts of the city. The news has stirred a lot of emotional reactions from the public. (The report is from July 11, 2010)
Based on information obtained by HRANA reporters, after Elnaz Babazadeh went missing, her family reported the disappearance to all official Iranian government agencies. After a week-long search, her body was delivered to the family by the coroner’s office while the coroner, after examining the body, confirmed assault, battery, rape, and murder by shooting. The police announced that the body was discovered near Emamieh Cemetery in Tabriz.
After the family filed a complaint against the murder of their daughter [demanding to press charges], the police arrested three citizens from Tabriz who are active members of the Basij [militia]. The main suspect and defendant confessed to all the above-mentioned charges in the police station. The defendant stated he entered the vehicle of the young woman in Tabriz’s Valiasr neighbourhood under the pretext of “*ordering to what is known to be virtuous”, and to give a notice to the young woman for “bad hijab”, in the context of the hijab and chastity program undertaken by the police and the Basij forces. The defendant then used his firearm to threaten the woman. The police forced her to drive to the outskirts of the city. That is where they raped her. Then, she died from three gun shots to the chest.
It is reported that the main suspect of the case is currently held by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) due to the sensitivity of the issues involved.
*It is an Islamic obligation that requires everyone to invite people to do the right thing. It is used by the Taliban, the government of Saudi Arabia, and the Iranian Islamic regime to justify interference with various aspects of the lives of citizens; for example, the way they dress, their involvement in intimate relationships, and private gatherings they hold.

Mohammad Ali Haj-Aghaee
He was arrested at 1983 accused of supporting PMOI.
At the time of his arrest his two children were struggling with a disease that only a few people have it in millions.
While in prison, he tells her wife to sell everything for the treatment of the children.
The doctors said that his children will become paralyzed at 18 and then will die.
The clerical dictatorship uses the condition of his children as a tool for putting pressure on him at the prison but he resists.
In 1988 when he gets out of prison he is faced with the death of his two children in a short while.
He was once more arrested during the uprisings of 1988.
At his trial the criminal judge Moghisehee smells his file and says: “it smells like Ashraf (the place of residence of PMOI members in Iraq)”.
His lawyer was not even allowed to see the file. The lawyer said: “I just know that he was accused of being a Mohareb (one who wages war against God)” but the lawyer added: “I don’t know in which Harb (fight against God here) he had participated. If they call the unarmed protests a Harb then millions had participated in this Harb and they are still Mohareb.
Moghisehee told Aghaee in court that he will be executed unless he confesses that he was a spy of Israel and he had received money from US.
Mohammad Ali Haj Aghaee was executed at dawn of today, Monday Jan. 24. 2011. together with Jafar Kazemi.
Jafar Kazemi
Jafar Kazemi has been executed today, 24th of January in the early morning in Tehran.
The following is the English translation of Rodabeh Akbari’s letter:
My name is Roudabeh Akbari. I am a housewife, married to the political prisoner Jafar Kazemi and a mother of two children.
My husband was arrested on September 18, 2009 at 6 am on Haft-Hoz Street in Tehran. We did not hear from him for two weeks. He was tortured for three days and then placed in solitary confinement for 74 days under harsh conditions.
My husband was accused of supporting and propagandizing for the Mojahedin Organization (MKO), as well as visiting our son in Ashraf (MKO camp in Iraq).
In prison, after being tortured and spending three months in solitary, he was pressured to make televised confessions. Faced with his resistance, they then tortured him again, and three of his teeth were broken as a result of severe beatings. Presently, my husband remains in a worrisome physical and emotional state.
At the end of the initial trial, during which judge Moghiseh sentenced him to death, my husband’s lawyer verbally objected to the ruling, which he argued was excessive and unlawful for the existing charge of anti-state propaganda. The judge remarked that he was under pressure at that time by higher authorities to rule in this fashion. According to my husband’s lawyer, during the second trial, the court did not even look at the defense statement, which contained 3 pages of arguments regarding the anti-state propaganda charge, and in a 2-line ruling upheld the initial court’s ruling (death sentence). Judge
Zargar was the judge who presided over the appeal hearing.
The interrogator has told my husband that “we need to sacrifice a few in order to save the regime, and your name has been drawn as one of them”. My husband was asked again to make an interview about the Ashura events of December 27th 2009, but he refused to comply as was arrested 3 months before Ashura. The interrogators threatened that if he refused to make the confession, they would torture his wife and his children before his eyes. In spite of threats by the interrogators that they would cut his wife in pieces before his eyes, he continued to resist making any confessions in interview. The interrogators reacted by telling my husband that his execution was final and would be enforced. After 74 days of solitary in ward 209, he was held in a place they call the suite, before being moved one week later to ward 350.
For three weeks, despite repeated attempts by me and my younger child, they refused to let us visit with him.
Which law, country or ethics, says that visiting one’s child is a crime? If the Islamic Republic considers visiting your children a crime punishable by death, then my husband is guilty.
Given the critical situation of the political prisoners, and considering the total lack of will to review the inhumane and illegal court rulings against innocent prisoners, I demand the immediate stay of execution for those have been sentenced to death.
What I described above does not only apply not to my husband and our family; all the families of political prisoners are in the same excruciating psychological situation. All the families of political prisoners want immediate action from the United Nations and the UNHCR commissioner.
Yours truly,
Roudabeh Akbari, wife of political prisoner Jafar Kazemi

قتل دکتر علیمحمدی تیتر مطبوعات وتلویزینهای دنیا
The motive for the killing of the scientist, Massoud Ali Mohammadi, remains unclear. Colleagues said that he was not involved in the country’s nuclear program, but according to a report from Iran’s state-supported Press TV, a spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry accused foreign countries concerned that Iran may intend to develop nuclear weapons of being behind the murder. Iranian state television called Mr. Ali Mohammadi a “staunch supporter of the Islamic Revolution,” and The Los Angeles Times reported that the scientist was described in other Iranian media outlets as a former member of the Revolutionary Guards. One of Mr. Ali Mohammadi’s students said that he had severed his ties to the Revolutionary Guards years ago. The student added:
Since two months ago, he has been venting his frustration with almost everybody in the system. [...] He was openly criticizing high-ranking officials in classes.

Elahe, 24 years old
assassinated at Passdaaraans' Eshrat-Abaad concentration camp on Friday
8 January 2010

The horrible story of Arghavan and Zahed Shokrabi
In this video (in Persian with English subtitles) Bahram Moshiri is telling the story of Zahed Shokrabi (20) and his sister Arghavan(18), who were both detained in July 2009 in Esfahan. The prison guards named Moslem and Gheybi, beat heavily Zahed and told to his sister to get naked, if she does not want them to kill her brother. She did it and one of them begun to rape her. Her brother came to his senses and begun shouting but the prison guards killed him in front of his sister. After these events she is still totally out of her mind, she went completely crazy.
Ashoora victims
An other should be Mostafa Karim Beigi, 26 years old, on the photo. He got a bulled in the head, it is possible that he is on this video.
Here is the interview with his mother translated to English (Persian original under the English version).
Other source in Persian here.
Sajjad Sabzalipour
From a private source I received a news about the martyrdom of Sajjad Sabzalipour (nicknamed Kaveh), a young man of 24, who was killed by the basiji on the Enghelab square. Allegedly he has been hit in his eye by a bullet shot from a roof by a sniper. This news has been sent to me on the 8th of January 2010. He should be buried in the countryside of Rasht. This young man was allegedly an actor in TV series, even if I do not know him. This photo should be from the series Panjomin khorshid. If anybody knows more, please post or send it to me. The source is stating that it is not the same person named as Kaveh Alipour.
Here there is a mention of his name together with the name of an other martyr, Meisam Ebadi and there are more mentions in Persian.
Shahram vs. Shahrokh or others
Dear readers, I deeply apologise for my absence. I was very busy these days with my personal and work affairs and I did not have the time to catch up with the new events.
As you probably noticed, there was a big dispute over the videos circulating around the atrocities committed by the Iranian police during the Ashoora demonstrations.
A video of a man three times overrun by a car has been shown and the victim has been identified with at least two people, Shahram Farajzade Tarani and Shahrokh Rahmani.
Ultimately it has been proven that the victim is Shahram Tarani, for example by this photo. On the photo he is wearing the same shirt as at the moment of his martyrdom.
There have been considerable errors about the identification of the young martyr on the video, for example the VOA report identified him as Shahrokh Rahmani. It is possible that other people died during that day, but from the photos and videos it is clear that the man in that concrete video shown is Shahram Farajzade Tarani.

Fasih Yasamani - executed
According to a report from the Committee of Human Rights Activists in Kurdistan, the execution officials unexpectedly and without following the legal procedure executed this Kurdish citizen who was a native of the village Khoy (located in north-western Iran). He was in prison since 2007. The officials refuse to hand over the body to his family.
Mr. Yasamani was accused of belonging to an opposition party (Pajvak, an armed Kurdish group). However, there was no evidence to support the accusations, except for Mr. Yasamani’s own confessions which, according to him, was said under torture.
Fasih was 28 at the time of his execution. After Ehsan Fatahian [who was executed on Nov 11th], Fasih is the second political prisoner to be executed in the Kurdish region in recent months.
At the moment, there are 17 other political prisoners on death row in Kurdistan:
Ms. Zeynab Jalalian, Habibollah Latifi, Shirkoo Moarefi, Farhad Vakili, Farzad Kamangar, Ali Heydarian, Hossein Khezri, Rashid Akhondaki, Mohammad Amin Agooshi, Ahmad Pouladkhani, Seeyed Sami Hosseini, Seyyed Jamal Mohammadi, Rostam Arkia, Mostafa Salimi, Anvar Rostami, Hasan Talei, and Iraj Mohammadi

Abbas (Shahram) Farajzadeh Tarani
Cross-posted from niacINsight.com.
To the world, he is the man that was brutally run over a police car during Ashura’s protests, but to his family, he is Shahram.
{UPDATE: He was run over 3 times which proves the intentional killing}
Abbas (Shahram) Farajzadeh Tarani was thirty-years old when a police car backed into him and then ran over him again, killing him on Dec. 27. His death was captured by fellow protesters by this thirty second youtube video. He worked in a paint factory and leaves behind his wife and five year-old daughter. Like many of those martyred during the post-election unrest, the Iranian government has done its best to stop the impact of his death.
As was told to us by a third-party source, after he was hit, fellow protesters and one relative took his body to the hospital. But, when his family arrived at the hospital, his body was missing. Shortly thereafter, government officials called his brother to tell him that Shahram’s body was being buried in Behesht Zahra, the main cemetery in Tehran.
When the brother arrived, he was faced with four intelligence officers and they warned him not to cause a scene. His family was told they were not allowed to hang up the traditional black cloths on his home or his office to notify friends of his death. The government had taken the liberty of washing his body and wrapping it in a white cloth, both of which are important rite in Iranian mourning process normally overseen by close friends and relatives, and then, in proper tradition, wrapped him in a white cloth. They were allowed to see the body for a moment and noticed that he was covered in stitches.
After burying the body, families normally hold a ceremony at a mosque on the third day of the person’s death. But for the Farajzadeh Taranis, each mosque they approached refused them. Apparently the government had threatened the mosques and forbade them from hosting the ceremony.
Like many families who have lost their relatives to the post-election upheaval, Shahram’s family was forced to quietly mourn for him in their home, in fact, his brother had to sign an agreement saying he would not have a public ceremony.
As if the Iranian intelligence community does monitor its citizens’ behavior enough, four intelligent officers oversaw the Shahram’s ceremony at his family’s home. Men filled one room and women the other, all the while, Shahram’s father kept crying out, “Shahram, your blood was unjustly shed!”
Two days ago, on Monday, a week after his death, the Farajzadeh Tarani’s were allowed to mourn the seventh day since Shahram’s death at a mosque. Normally families print out flyers and paste them outside the mosque or near their work places, but once again, they were denied this basic custom. Instead they printed flyers themselves and handed them out to friends who seemed to be unaware of their son’s death. Traditionally, on the top of these flyers is a line of poetry, and his reads, “From every death, rises some sadness, but there are differences between death and death.”
“I feel he died in vain,” expressed one of Shahram’s relatives to our third-party source. So the responsibility once again falls to outside media and Iranian citizen journalism to ensure the world remembers Shahram’s fight for freedom.

Hamed Makari Anvar (?)
The person who is writing is not sure about this case and it seems nobody has more information, there are only tweets with this name and photo.
Other sources speak about a drug addict bearing the same name.... it is necessary to find out anything more. There is just written he was from Hamadan. It is quite a doubtful case. Anybody heard anything?

UPDATE: The dead political prisoner has been identified as MEHDI KARIMPOUR
Hamed Rouhinejad
Hamed wrote 2 letters to the World to declare his innocence. Excerpt:
“Poverty and the hardships we were facing as a working class family and the huge expenses of my treatment as an MS patient forced me to leave the country. I did not want to impose on my family more than what they were already facing. I left Iran in hopes of going to the U.S. or a European country, but I unfortunately ended up in Iraq. Human traffickers took all my money. I was detained in Arbil for 4 months. After my release I started working in a restaurant day and night to make some money, but my deteriorating MS and the loneliness of exile forced me to return to Iran. My return was completely legal and was in coordination with the Intelligence Ministry. Upon my return I went to the “Intelligence” officials and told them everything about my trip. After listening to me they said, “you have not committed any crime and can go back to university.” Unfortunately, 10 months later, on May 4th, 2009, I was arrested and detained until I could be used as a sacrifice in the election trials. Today, as a political prisoner, I declare that I have never belonged to any political party or group. I have never had anything to do with the elections. I deny having ever had any ties to the API (Anjoman Padeshi Iran). I deny all the charges that have been brought up against me.”
